Wow, the high horses are in short supply in this thread. A little common sense from folks, and a tad less hypocrisy, would go a long way. A few things:
- If SW wants to do this, I have no problem with it. I can fit in one seat so it doesn't bother me. It is understandable that those who use more should pay more
- "losing weight is the easiest thing to do for someone who's never had to do it" - well said, so some of you shove your sanctimonious, useless, and overall grossly ignorant advice up your arse...all the way up
- Yeah, subsidising others sucks, so lets make the smokers, drinkers, and SUV drivers pay their fair share. I hate paying more for my health and auto insurance, too

I agree, if you take more than one seat, paying more is not a big deal. But the plan is to charge a person extra even if they do not get an extra seat. That is pure hockey!
Some obesity is related to life choices, but others are directly related to medications and circumstances. Lucky me, diabetes is one of them. I have a choice, die on one end of the spectrum or die on another. How much fun, can you join me? Please? Maybe an amputation would be fun!
Ten year ago, I liked running half marathons. Am I the lazy ass so many talked about? I have given up so much choice in food you would never understand.
I gave up cigarettes twelve years ago. It was a very hard experience. For those that want to continue, give up food for two months. See if you live. Cigarettes are easy compared to food. Cigarettes are more addictive than cocaine.
You cannot go cold turkey on food.
If anyone with my situation wants to email me; do it by private post. I have many resources I can send you if you are interested. Especially diabetes resources.
