The fact these idiots cannot understand is that immigration enforcement is a civil function. It is NOT in the realm of the DOD. They want to REALLY trash the constitution by turning over police powers to the military. To do that then only one thing allows it. A declaration of martial law. Once done that does NOT limit martial law JUST to the borders. That means every man jack in this country is subject to that same martial law.

OTH, isn't understandable that folks are rather impatient waiting for the FedGov to step up to the plate and faithfully execute our laws with regard to Illegals? There's been a massive bipartisan failure on the matter of protecting the border. Civil enforcement is deliberately neglected or hamstrung.

So folks want something done. "Use the military." "Mine the borders." How much longer before they say, "We'll do it ourselves?"

Seems to me that the longer our politicians turn a blind eye to the lawlessness of Illegals, the more likely such developments will be. Then what?

Would the FedGov crack down on the vigilantes who only arose because of the malfeasance on Illegals? Go after citizens on behalf of Illegals?

Yeah, they'd have to... and then we'll have worse problems. We can't go the way of doing nothing. It isn't working now.

So the military is out, and doing nothing is out. I've suggested beefing up the Border Patrol with trained volunteers. Maybe there's a better idea, I'm all ears.
