As of 1998, the guys at the truck rental place didn't think that Bunting was the man they had seen.

Witnesses Offer Many Descriptions Of John Doe No. 2
Diane Plumberg, Staff Writer

[Rep. Charles Key, R-Oklahoma City] said he also does not believe the government's theory that Bunting was mistaken as John Doe No. 2. He said workers at the body shop where the truck was rented told the late Glenn Wilburn, who also pushed for a grand jury, that Bunting was not the man they saw.

Sorry for the mis-quote in my last reply. On a different thread I went through all the court testimony and pertinent press accounts about the " Elliot's Body Shop witnesses changing their minds" about JD2 and it was clear to me that the witnesses NEVER changed their testimony about JD2. The only thing that changed was the story presented by the federal government and propagated by the media.

The actual quote was:

Unfortunately for the prosecution, Mr Kessinger has already given too many interviews ridiculing the Bunting canard. "He was laughing about it and said 'I don't know how they came up with that one'," said Glenn Wilburn, a bombing victim, when he visited Mr Kessinger last year
