When did Jesus say that He would remove the candlestick from the cities in Revelation? When they lost their first love, when they failed to repent, when they became so corrupt they no longer represented Him.

Read the Apostle Paul. When the Corinthain Church knew and covered up the FACT of a SINGLE member's incest with his mother, he castigated them for not throwing him out of the church. The RCC has too many pedophiles to number right now, and too many Bishops hiding them, using RCC Member's money to defend them in court, without not a single instance of these pedophiles being thrown out of the church.

1 Corinthians 5:1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.
2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.
3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,
4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? 13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

And the recent ruling confirms this. They are still allowing these men to be priests. It makes no difference that these men are 'behind the scenes', they are still in the church, they are still priests, and they still do the duties of the church behind the scenes!!

Show me where Jesus said to allow pedophiles to remain as leaders in the Pulpit!!

The Leaders of the church were to be beyond suspicion!!

1 Timothy 3:1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.
11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.
12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
13 For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Mahony has established a record every bit as shameful as Boston's much-maligned Cardinal Bernard Law during his 17 years as archbishop of Los Angeles, and earlier when he was bishop of Stockton.

But he'll never be portrayed in the same vain as Law, because Law is considered a conservative and Baloney is a liberal. Mother Angelica had this beaut pegged way back.

Yes, I think we are all physically ill. I don't even know where to start after reading this.

I decided to jump back online to celebrated Padre Pio Santo, and I come across this.

This is what we do:
We make renewed sacrifices, penances, and acts of reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We beg St. Padre Pio's invervention. We implore the intecession and intervention of our great reformers daily:

St. Ephrem of Edessa, pray for us.
St. Benedict, pray for us.
St. Scholastica, pray for us.
St. Francis, pray for us.
St. Claire, pray for us.
St. Dominic, pray for us.
St. Catherine of Siena, pray for us.
St. Teresa of Avila, pray for us.
St. John of the Cross, pray for us.

We go to daily Mass. We daily pray the Rosary. We daily pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. We try to offer as many holy hours before the Blessed Sacrament as we can for reparation for the outrages of these traitorous bishops, priests, deacons, and religious.

We start sending information like this to every Catholic and Christian media service. We snail mail copies to Doug Keck and Raymond Arroyo at EWTN. We e-mail or snail-mail information to Bishop Bruskewitz in Lincoln, Nebraska.

We write the Pope in Polish if possible and we send the letter to the Pope's trusted aid, Msgr. Dziwisz.

We begin with things such as these my friends.

Your sister in the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary,

Siobhan

Doesn't Malony have friends -- or a least one friend -- at the LA Times who seems to see that stuff about him doesn't appear or is downplayed?

Yes, Mother Angelica was absolutely right about Cardinal Mahony.

We must bring him down by sending documentation and information on him to the Weekly Standard, to Rod Dreher, to Peggy Noonan, to Deal Hudson, to the Washington Times -- to any person in the news biz and pray to God they run with it.

Subject: Times Story

Privileged Client--Attorney Communication

All:

Well, the Times article did not turn out as negative as I feared. They
were able to get in some positive things for a change.

As always, they got a few factual things wrong or inaccurate.

But now I am freed from the accusation that I am hiding from the press
and unwilling to discuss these issues publicly. Larry Stammer said that a
lot of good has been done with the press and media by doing the interview, and that he stands ready to help if we have a story we want to get out.

Larry is going to do a story on our Seminaries soon--that will be
helpful.

My best estimate is that by mid-May any new problems will have been
uncovered, and that we can begin the healing process over the coming
months. If it starts before then, that is fine. It's the new cases, like the
Jesuits today, that keep the story alive.

And I did not give numbers!! In fact, with our various cases now I
don't even know what the numbers are myself!!

Thanks --yes, the name Larry Stammer sounds familiar.

A couple of questions: how did the radio station get the e-mail? The Boston Globe got a lot documents in the Boston cases by FOIA request, and others by order of the presiding judge in the case.

What's this "Privileged client-attorney communication" at the top? It's a communication with his lawyers? Media@la-archdiocese.org is an attorney?

that we can begin the healing process over the coming months.

Has no ever told him it's very dangerous to allow an infected wound to "heal" without clearing the infection up first?

Homosexual priests just LOVE to profane the Blessed Sacrament.

May I add to your list two real examples that were related to me by a family member and praised:

1. Said Mass dressed in a carpenter's apron replete with tools on St. Joseph's Feast Day.

2. Consecrated and distributed pieces of pita bread as Communion, and explained to the parishioners that it didn't matter what was used as the Body of Christ.

Is excommunication still a Church practice? And why hasn't it been used here?

This is also discouraging:

http://www.nationalreview.com/thecorner/corner.asp:

GOOFUS, NOT GALLANT: [Rod Dreher] Isn't it, like, perfect that the American bishops put President Clinton's lawyer on their review board? How do you say in Latin, "That depends on what the definition of 'is' is"? I don't suppose they could have put BILL Bennett on the board, inasmuch as he's called for all the cover-up bishops to get the hell out of town. I've just come in from a very long postmortem panel discussion here in Dallas, at which Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz of Lincoln, Catholic World Report's Phil Lawler, Goodbye, Good Men author Michael S. Rose, Helen Hull Hitchcock and others spoke. Details to follow in Monday's NRO, but I gotta tell you, folks, the mood among orthodox RCs here is grim. This "hapless bench of bishops," as Bp. Bruskewitz called them tonight, couldn't even agree that the role of dissent and homosexuality in this catastrophe was worth studying. The conclusion is obvious: if reform is to come, it's not going to come from the bishops.

BTW, NRO's blog site is very informative.

A time to call all who love the Immaculata
TO ARMS!

BTW, this was clear evidence that the Holy Father needs to abolish the USCCB immediately.

Padre Pio Santo, pray for us
and with St. Michael the Archangel
help us drive out the 'Church of Darkness'
from Christ's One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.

B-Chan says a tape of the discussion Dreher describes is available. See p#149 at this thread. (Sorry, I don't know the HTML to send you to an individual reply.)

I couldn't figure out how to order through the link given, but I'm sure an answer will be forthcoming.

General note to lurkers/posters:

While I don't have time to read this article right now, I'll say that when I want
to know what is actually going on in Los Angeles, I read NewTimesLA.
It covers the inner workings of this city MUCH better than the Los Angeles Times.

Up to this point NewTimesLA has done a good job of reporting on Mahoney.
I'm not Catholic, but I think their reporting has been objective and should
be viewed (by Mahoney and his flock) as feedback to nudge them back onto the path of
righteousness.

These are distressing times for American Catholics; I just pray they can cut away the
tumor and save the body.

Further note:
It was "MiamiNewTimes", which I think is a sister publication to NewTimesLA that
covered a lot of the trail of The Talented Mr. Atta and how he and his crew had no
problems with the INS, despite numerous violations.
This was done by MiamiNewTimes last November or December.
This same basic story ran in The Los Angeles Times as "news" last month.
What a bunch of reportorial losers!!!

Thanks for the info -- and your good wishes.

One item I failed to include is that NewTimesLA has been very diligent in exposing
some of the nastier parts of Scientology.
This included a sordid tale of how the Scientologists managed to extract a fair amount of
case from a fellow who'd been brain-damaged in an accident (vehicular, I think).
IIRC, a civil trial found the Scientologists guilty of the appropriation and led
to a substantial judgement.

I haven't got the feeling that NewTimesLA's approach to the Scientologists or the recent
Catholic problems is "agenda-driven", as in they just go after religions or '-isms"
for sport. When NewTimesLA reports on these things, it's usually objective, cites
public records when available and defends itself well in their letters section in following
issues.

One warning: NewTimesLA is a California-cultural publication.
I would NOT recommend anyone under the age of 18 being given a copy...
occassional nudity/profanity will appear (rarely) in some articles/photos.

But, for the adult audience that can ignore that bit of objectionable content, the
publication will often have pearls of truth that can't be located between the pages of
the mainstream publications such as The Los Angeles Times.
