I have been concerned that for sometime that the Diocese of Cleveland's Gay and Lesbian Catholic Ministry was not promoting authentic Catholic Church teachings. How reassuring to know that my Diocese is reaching out to homosexuals at Gay Pride events and that those doing so hang out and gay bars to watch gay porn stars strip. I will be linking all the Cleveland Diocese stuff here during this weekend.

Our table was one of the best out there, IMHO, with a lot of literature and resources available.

"Literature and resources" about WHAT? Cornholing? I wonder if the parishioners know that their tithe is going for subscriptions to "Leather Biker Hunks" and "Poof, the Magic Drag Queen."

I minded the table with Bruce

Too cliche ...

we continued to talk to a lot of people throughout the day.

Soliciting?

A lot of people were surprised to see our ministry, especially with official sponsorship from the Diocese of Cleveland.

I'll bet they WERE!!

I hope that maybe our being there will help to bring a few people back to the Church who had left, as well as helping our ministry to grow.

Uhhhh, yeah, Padre. I'm sure your pews will swell with recovering rump-riders. You'll probably need to add a wing.

Summa Gloria Dei.

OUTRAGEOUS! This is utterly disgusting, Diago. Who do we call? What do we do? This has got to stop!

This latest story, written by a member of the Diocese of Cleveland's Gay and Lesbian Family Ministry, will remove any doubt about the true agenda of this group.

If you feel like doing something, why not e-mail Auxillary Bishop Roger Gries:

Auxilary Bishop Gries

Or, more importantly, forward this info to a Catholic journalist you know and ask him to help expose this scandal.

<"not like I was the only ogler at our table however"

Sure, it can't be wrong if everybody is doing it.[/sarcasm] My first question is who is the Bishop. It's time to flood the bishop's desk with protest letters.

Our church seems to be going further and further down a dark path.

Can Catholics explain why the Church allows this?

Why don't they dismantle these groups, throw them out of the church and forbid them from using the Catholic name?

Do you know for a fact that this story is true? If so, why isn't it AT LEAST on Fox News? I'm speechless...

Between this thread and the earlier one that you posted about the gay pride triangle, I am totally deflated spritually.

I have sent the following e-mail to both Bishop Gries and Pilla:

To: Bishop Anthony Pilla
cc: Bishop Roger Gries

Your Excellency,

It is with utmost respect that I implore you, as a Catholic, to please stop any association between the Church and Gay Pride organizations.

The character of our sacred religion has been under vigorous attack. Any association with radical gay groups is only serving to fan the fires the media have started with their relentless sesationalism. Please take a stand and refuse to support in any way the gay and lesbian groups whose only agenda is to destroy the traditional family structure that they despise through ridicule and intimidation.

I love God, the Church and my Catholic religion. It hurts me and countless other devout that the Church is not strong enough to shake off these people who only use her to further their own sinful lifestyle. It makes no sense that these people who practice an immoral and unnatural lifestyle are allowed to partake of the Holy Sacraments, yet people who have opted out of brutal and abusive marriages are denied the same privileges.

It is my hope and fervent prayer that the leaders of our Catholic faith will show strength and stand up to a minority who has made gains in secular society through threats and bullying.

Faithfully Yours,
XXXXXX X. XXXXXXXXXXX
Norcross, GA

The Diocese of Cleveland wasn't like this when I attended one of its schools 13 years ago.

My! What a difference a decade or so makes.

There was one thing they needed to have at the USCCB meeting that they apparently overlooked:

EXORCISMS

Lots and lots of them... :-P

I'm sorry. It's one thing to get away from a church another to try to get away from a Diocese.

NYer provided a link to www.garabandal.org where I found this timely prophecy:

Message which Our Lady has given to the world through the intercession of St. Michael the Archangel. The angel said, "Since my message of October 18 has not been made known to the world and has not been fulfilled, I tell you that this is my last message. Previously, the cup was being filled. Now it is overflowing. Many Cardinals, many Bishops and many Priests are on the road to perdition and with them they are bringing many souls. The Holy Eucharist is being given less importance (honor). We must avoid God's anger with us by our efforts at amendment. If we beg pardon with sincerity of soul, He will forgive us. I, your Mother, through the intercession of St. Michael the Archangel, want to tell you to amend your lives. You are already receiving one of the last warnings. I love you very much and do not want your condemnation. Ask sincerely and we will give to you. You should make more sacrifices. Think of the Passion of Jesus."

I have seen this in other parishes. The people who are the Catholics that support the church and have been good Catholics all their lives when they see something that they don't feel is right they don't say anything... "we don't want to get anybody angry or upset" so they keep their head down and continue along with their lives and give their money blindly to the parish. These people in a way are just as bad they are supporting things that they don't even know nor to they want to know....

I felt so uncouth sitting there ogling a pornstar and trying to be a respectable representative of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland at the same time...

He failed.

Whenever anyone asks, I identify myself as "Roman Catholic, NOT American Catholic."

Dang! And to think that I graduated from one of the schools in the Diocese of Cleveland (St. Joseph, now Villa Angela-St. Joseph).
