I was very, very pregnant when the shuttle blew up. I was driving my oldest to pre-school and remember hearing it on the radio. My first thought was disbelief, similar to the WTC when the second plane flew into the building. You knew then it was a terrorist, and you knew it was OBL. Then I thought, that teacher was aboard. Just a lady, like you or me. That's when I really lost it. The poor teacher was so honored to have been choosen. Although I disagree with sending civilians on missions like that. I still wonder if I didn't go into labor early over that. I was two weeks early.
