I wanted to ask the same question.

While I agree that FR is definitely a political website, I have seen everything from threads about ill cats to the one running currently about what Freepers do for a living.

I think it's pretty obvious that we have some freedom to stray into other news topics.

I agree too that some straying is ok. My point was based on the fact that they are the most active and most likely to have ppl hitting the abuse button. Maybe the Mods patience is to the limit.
