Group one factors tend to cause group two consequences. Can you show evidence of the existence of Group one factors in American society in the early 1900's that led to the massive expansion of federal government and consolidation of power in DC under Wilson and FDR?

If anything, I would say category two help lead to the category one results. If the government is corrupt, why should the citizens be any different, right?

I think it was called "The Great Depression", and everyone was promised a chicken for their pot. People were starving, they began to like the idea of a chicken for every pot.
