Indians see US from the prism of Pakistan. much before Bush said this - it has been official indian policy " You are with us or with the terrorists" and US by supporting pakistan and Mujaheddin was seen to be supporting terrorists. Pakistan has been causing mischief since 1948 through renegades.
Indians warmed up to US after september 11th and were very glad ( but sorry about the deaths ) to note that US is no longer with the terrorists.
