VICTORVILLE, Calif. (AP) - A man described by a judge as "an evil monster" was sentenced to 25 years in prison for using a baseball bat, metal pipe and golf club to attack a 12-year-old Halloween trick-or-treater on his doorstep.

I'm sure Randall Colbrunn is an otherwise saintly man driven to evil by that demon methamphetamine. Can't you see that this Jeckyll and Hyde defense is a cyncial ploy by Colbrunn to divert blame for his horrendous crime? He thought they were bugs ... sure Randall, very Kafka-esque, and awfully convenient as well.
Do I want meth on the streets? Hell no. But while it's a terribly addictive and destructive drug, let's not lay all the blame on the substance rather than the individual. Colbrunn may try to cop out with his "bug" defense, but he shouldn't get off with a suspended sentence and rehab. He's apparently an out-of-control jackass with violent tendancies, and deserves to be locked up.
If you want to deal with the social costs of drug abuse, the first step is cracking down on violent thugs like Colbrunn who truly endanger others with their lack of control, made worse by drug abuse.
Do you mean "The Great White North," with Bob and Doug McKenzie? That's what it sounds like, but it was Dave Thomas and Rick Moranis.
PS Michigan is full of hicks; the South definitely doesn't have a monopoly.
But if the drug was illegal, how was he able to get it? Doesn't make sense.
Legalize it and all that changes, and thousands more will have access to crystal meth.....
Yes.
Legalize it and all that changes, and thousands more will have access to crystal meth.....
So automatically, thousands more will want to do it? Wrong.
Yes.
I forgot you were a drug head :-P
I myself probably couldn't score a quarter bag of pot in 30 mins.
Also, alcohol is not as immediately addictive.
Give me some numbers to back that up.
Also, alcohol is not as immediately addictive.
How do you know? Are you smoking the rock? Tell us about it.
But if it wasn't for guns, this shooting never would have happened.
But if it wasn't for alcohol, this drunk driving never would have happened.
But if it wasn't for cigarettes, this cancer never would have happened."
Same old nanny-state clap-trap.... different day.
The individual is responsible, not the inanimate object.
Oh, we got hicks all right. Some folks might consider me one. ;^)
Actually, Canadian rednecks would scare the living sh*t out of most normal people. Think of those 'Deliverance' boys without the sophistication. ;^)
Where the hell am I gonna find numbers on that. Just look at your local area though. Go to liquor establishments. Bars, stores, ect. Count how many under 21 buy compared to 21. Then go count how many underage buy at the "back alley" spots. Many times more alcohol is purchased by 21+ Do to some simple facts. They don't have to worry about getting arrested. They have easier access and they know what they are buying.
And of course Meth is more addictive than Alcohol. I'm not even waisting my time to pull the numbers to prove that universally known fact.
You shore got a purdy mouth, eh?
