Well, that was my guess and that of a few others literally SECONDS after the news of the kidnapping hit the wires and then FR.....but generally it was a feeling hat there was something fishy about the whole thing, even if it wasn't obvious what it was.
I also speculated that the police, even if they had suspicions about the story, would basically play along for a while and keep a low profile, treating it like a stranger abduction, while investigating their suspucions behind the scenes and simply looking for the girl; you wouldn't hear about any police suspicion till much later...with the polygraph for the father, and now this, seems I as exactly correct about that, at least.
Of course, not to be lost is that this SEEMS to be good news; I suspect her chances of being alive are FAR greater if taken by even an extended family member rather than some homeless drifter with a criminal record or something.
Unless said "homeless drifter" is in fact, a member of the extended family.
The larger the extended family, the greater the chance of having at least one certifiable kook in the family tree.
I have no insider information on this, but, just for the record/heck of it, I'll say that you heard it first right here....
