I saw Uncle Tom on Larry King Live tonight--he was weird--as he started to answer the last question put to him, he turned his eyes to the side and did not look directly into the camera, as he continued with his answer, twice he closed his eyes for abnormally long periods of time (several seconds each time)--then he kept going on about how perhaps the kidnapper probably had "issues" and that he could understand because everyone has issues--very bizzare(sp?) He looked extremely uncomfortable to me--I kept hoping that a psychologist or psychiatrist that posts on this site might catch the interview and be here tonight to comment/interpret the strange body language. Did anyone else see Tom on LLK?

he started to say that the family has been scrutinized because of the poly's...then stopped himself..

I wonder if more than just dadddy has taken a poly or if perhaps uncle Tommy refused one

Yes, I saw that interview. Weird is too nice a word.

That "Issue's" thing, what is the heck did that have to do with anything, "well we all have issue's", what?

Did you also hear him state that he had taken the lie detector test????? went by very fast, but he then stated "Oh, I guess I should not have mentioned that" and why not? That interviewer did not ask him anything about this, skipped over it.

I also saw him on Larry King. He said that the person that took Elizabeth was not a bad person. The guy gives me the creeps.

All the soothing, understanding talk about the abductor's feelings may be on the advice of the profilers. They may think it will either help persuade him to let her go, or at least help stop him from deciding to kill her. If the profilers have given advice of this sort to the family, it wouldn't be strange for the family to harp on it pretty hard, as well as to look/sound awkward while doing it since it may be in contradiction to their real and natural feelings towards the sick perp. Assuming they're all innocent, they're desperate to do everything they possibly can to ensure Elizabeth's safe return.
