"An immense majority of Cubans support Fidel and the revolution," she said, adding: "It's voluntary. We are here of our own will."

The very fact that she feels she needs to say that speaks volumes. Would a person in a country where pro-government marches are not mandatory ever say such a thing? With such obvious nonsense form on high, I can just picture what my response would be, were I trapped in such a place, to being forced to go to rallies or risk losing what little privileges the government has allowed. It would be as if the whole world had gone starl raving mad. People would have to be seething inside, without hope yet instinctively looking for a catalyst to make things right again, and everyone knows the world is mad but everyone is too afraid to mention it becuase of the fear that the cigar-chomping inmate and crazies ruling the asylum might go ballistic on them.

I can't even begin to imagine. I wonder if we can even put ourselves into their minds.
After being isolated and trained to think a certain way, they still have to be told to march for Castro.
