I have been a frequent critic of Bush, even earning, and proud of it, the label of "Bush-basher".

In this case, I don't know that I disagree with the Bush plan if, as advertised, it reorganizes existing agencies in a way that will make them work more efficiently together. The temptation for any statist of course is to increase, not merely reorganize government power, so hopefully some important people will watch that carefully.

I am a bit concerned about this, but willing to proceed as we do face a great danger.

The problem with the Republicans for years, has been the inablility to nuke the socialist proposals by the Democrats. Instead, they promise to make them more financially efficient, and deeper rooted. The fight over the constitution, that conservatives have been waging for many years, is over, conservatives lost. We are headed down the slippery slope to a European type of society, and there is no leader capable of being elected, that can stop it. When 50% + 1 of the electorate is bought off by federal pork, the ones that promise the goodies will win every time. Welcome to tomorrow, enjoy today because it is the best things will be. In a few years, all candidates will sound like AlGore or Clinton, when running for office, and anyone talking about the constitutional limits, will be relegated to the KOOK bin.
