Police Dog Accused of Racial Profiling

My standard dachshund was raised in an apartment complex with an ethnic mix. He loves all people, regarding all as prospective worshippers. He has no objection to any race.

His sister, a miniature dachsie, was isolated from other people as she was growing up . Not intentionally, it just worked out that way. By the time she was six months old, she hated pretty much the entire human race. She tolerates me because she has to , but she hates all other women.She only loves white men in their 30s, who remind her of her daddy. She flirts with them in an outrageous, shameless fashion. The dog has an Electra complex.

Our chihuahua is standoffish, but he doesn't respond any differently to people based on race. He dislikes children, as do many chis.

I read a book once about a pair of hippies who raised a cougar, back in the 1970s. The cat hated everyone who wasn't young, white, slim, and drably dressed (this was back when hippies wore army fatigues as their standardized way of showing their individuality). Black people, old people, fat people, flashy dressers, people who wore glasses...any person who didn't look like mommie and daddy, he hated. Whatever instinct prompted the cougar to discriminate in this manner, must be present in domestic dogs, too, and if the dog isn't introduced to a wide range of people before it's six months old, it may always hate people who don't resemble its twolegged pack members.

Wouldn't the standard liberal response be "education" for the dog?

That's so right. Years ago, we had a small poodle who barked frantically and charged at a large watermelon we had placed on the floor. It really terrified her and she was not a fearful dog. If we touched the melon with a toe and made it rock back and forth, then she really went crazy.

I think perhaps a new, unbiased dog would be a better solution, say a black labrador, which could be given the job despite the absence of any training, and in the face of competition from several far more qualified, though obviously evil and racist, white dogs. It could be a kind of canine affirmative action.

What happens if a guys dog barks at black people? Is that hate speech and what is the punishment. Will there be new laws reguarding how dogs behave in the presence of black people? Who will be punished the owner or the dog? Isn't the death penalty cruel and unusual punishment in the liberal mind.

We've got one of those also. He's a mostly boxer mutt (named Charles Barkley) and will bark and growl at any man who comes in the house.

I found it quite handy when my daughter began dating!

I think ALL German Shepherds or their owners should have to pay reparations.

I will re-think my position on this if it can be proven that Dolpho is a neo-Nazi or a skinhead and thus his behavior is purely individual and all GS dogs should not be subject to reparations.

Note: If he sheads he may be a latent skinhead.

As a matter of fact, we once had a German shepherd who went berserk when he saw blacks. (snip) On the other hand, he also had a fit when he saw someone wearing a hat.

Dogs are notoriously "racist", in that they prefer the scent, appearance, sound, and movement patterns of their owners, whom, it is said, they recognize as members of their "pack".

I can get along with most dogs, but dogs owned by Black or Hispanic people don't generally care for me. I assume the same would be true of Oriental or "Amerind" dogs.

It's simply part of dog nature, but some folks assume a hostile dog has been specifically trained to dislike them.
