They were considering charging the dog with a hate crime until they realised that the dog was half black.

To show sensitivity they should use only Black Labs.

Dogs do profile. I was watching Animal Planet last night and they were showing how dogs are tested for suitability for adoption. They were testing a pit bull. They showed it a baby doll. The dog ignored it. They threw it a ball. The dog ignored it. They fed the dog, then tried to take away the food while the dog was eating. The dog didn't growl or try to defend the food. Then someone came into the room dressed in a Mexican sombrero and carrying a cane. The dog went nuts.

There was a movie with Cristi McNichol years ago that was about a dog that was trained to attack black people. I think it was titled "White Dog".
On that note, I think these people have been watching too many movies.

Isn't this considered "threatening an officer of the law"?

"But a borough councilwoman said the dog targets blacks and should be put to death."She is an idiot! But if she can't get re-elected in PA, she can move to CA and get elected to the state senate.

I would think it could fall under threatening a police officer. Or solicitation of murder.
If you kill a K9 officer you get in a whole lot of trouble. The law treats them almost like human police when it comes to stuff like that.

Border-patrol material!

The only difference here is that it's a local issue compared to a national issue.
By local I mean that the statement made to destroy the dog is stupid at best, end of stroy.
By God help us if it was a national issue. And after wasted time and money, nothing will be done.
