[history]
We are about to find out how many of the 12 Senate Democrats who voted for tax cuts last year really meant it. They'll get the chance to prove their sincerity when the Senate takes up a vote to make repeal of the death tax permanent, perhaps this month. Last Thursday, 41 of their Democratic counterparts in the House joined the 256-171 vote to make this punitive tax disappear forever.

Once again our elected officals are busy trying to fu** things up instead of during what is best for the country.
It's always me first, and then the voters and the country second.

Bye bye, Carnahan.

But it's far more likely that they've changed because their re-election opposition has since all but collapsed.I guess the author's unaware that Forrester is within four points of Mr. Torricelli in the most recent poll. Not to mention the same poll shows 28% want to re-elect the Torch, while 50% were looking elsewhere. Hardly a collapse, in my book. Heck, these numbers make Rod Grams' (defeated Senator from MN) numbers look strong.

If the price of lying, (freedom of speech, as viewed by politicians) was the firing squad, I'm quite sure speech would suddenly be regarded as something needing large amounts of TRUTH attached to it.

I'm not sure I like
any tax, but the one I know I absolutely hate is the death tax (and no, neither I nor my parents have enough to qualify for this tax).
But the very notion that if I work hard and invest right or build a business or invent something of such value that when I approach death I have the ability to leave my children millions, only for demonCRAPs to think they have more right to it makes my blood boil.
This is simply theft by the state and is immoral.

What really torques me is that they are taxing assets that have appreciated in dollars but not in purchasing power. The death tax is just plain unfair and immoral.

Exactly. I'd like to see Tommy Daschund forbid Rat senators from Red States from voting to abolish the Death Tax. It would be a pleasure to see him demolish his majority with his own hand.

"...Mr. Dasschle gave his Bush-state Democrats a tax-cut pass last year,
but the perversity of Senate budget rules meant the tax cuts end after 10 years. This is crazy tax policy, since it increases uncertainty and
would amount to the largest tax increase in history in 2010 if the law isn't changed..."
If it can be made this clearly on a computer, for me to understand, Why can't my/our Elected Republican's make this part of their Daily/Weekly Television Rhetoric? What are they afraid of,not having enough money for Pork for their own districts?I haven't heard anyone say the above statements (in BOLD) in public before.I'm embarrassed to say that too.
Republicans MUST, at any cost, win back the Senate!
