Please pass Kudo's to Sam, and Beach_Babe...it's wonderful to know our young men and women are willing to serve.
We're all so proud of them...almost as if they were our own sons and daughters!

I remember you telling us about your FIL.

I've been on both a German and US WWII sub(U-505 and USS Silversides).

My hat's off to your FIL, I could never have made it on a sub.

This thread made me think of you Severa, you being the wife of a submariner. And how you shared some of your experiences while he was away last time. Hope you and your boys and hubby are all doing well.

Billie, hope Severa has sent a picture of her hubby for you to include in FReepers finest the next time you update....

Is it time for lunch yet?

Guess we will have submarine sandwiches today...(Groan...too corny?).

Thanks to all who serve on subs. My neighbor is on a sub so I have first hand knowledge of the particular sacrifices they and their families make for our Country.

Good Morning Snow Bunny! Heart Brick & Breaker! Sounds like Bric a Brac...What a great layout!!! Imagine watching a head of lettuce disappearing into your kitchen and knowing that its the last one you can eat for months and months and trusting the cook to use every leaf because he KNOWS the crew is counting on him to make meals as good as they can be with no fresh supplies for months and months...ANY Idiot can be a captain(fired for effect only,SIRS)...I want to talk to a cook on a Nuke!!!

I don't have a pic of Severa's husband, and would love to include it. I think I have 5 pics on hold, and usually the groups are at least 8 or 9 photos. Thanks, daisy - again it's so nice to see you back after being gone 3 WEEKS!

Hey, T-Bob, cool sub pix. I didn't know that about the broom, in fact, didn't even notice it until you mentioned it. I love all the trivia and tid-bits of info I learn in the Canteen from everyone's posts. Good morning! Jen

I'M BACK, FINALLY!

WOW!
What a thread to come back to!
I get panicky in a crowded elevator!
Being in a submarine during battle is the worst possible scenario for me.
I'd take a bayonet charge by a thousand enemy any day!
My hat's definitely off to you guys!
God bless you for your service.

I hope the "subs" are the spicy Italian type with extra vinegar and oil!
