FR was faster than anyone on 9/11.I think the first thread posted about the North Tower being hit was within 3-4 mins of the event.It was running like a hampster wheel all day, but still the best source of wire related news by far.

As we drove down the Oregon coast on 9/11, basically newsless. My wife asked "Do you really think that there would be more on what happened at Free Republic than on the National News?"

I told her that within minutes after that first plane of mass murders hit, the board on FR would be lit up. By the time the second hit and the news of the Pentagon hit, they would started to tie all of this together. They would be the first on flight 93 to tie it all in.

Then in a very predictive mode, I said, "The Bush nay sayers would try to Blame GW, and I said that Rather, Blather and the crew of misfits at CNN would be blaming GW before the day ended. I was correct.
