You got that one right, Palo! Little Phoebe was only a few short weeks old, but she had a very wise old soul. She knew she had found people who loved her this time, and when she became so ill -- she knew she was dying. She did everything her weak little body would let her do to let us know that she knew we did everything in our power to save her. She is the first Basset puppy who I ever knew to actively "hug" me in return. She spoke volumes with those eyes, too. We knew each other. We loved each other. We always will. She would have loved you too.
