If everyone who was registered donated $1 a month, we'd never have to have a fund raiser Exactly. I am a monthly donator/subscriber/whatever...
And, on the question "to FREEP or not to FREEP?" Not FREEP? Is that possible? I think that I could get off of crack cocaine easier than I could stop FREEPing.
DISCLAIMER: No, I am not actually on crack cocaine.

Well, after a quick visit
HERE my wallet is lighter but my conscience is clear. Well, in this matter, at least. Nothing like a clear conscience. For a REALLY big donation you get a clear complexion, too...

BTTT Calling all good Washington FReepers - be you into activism, luncheons, or just hanging out on the deck eating strawberrries as you give the "All Clear" salute during terrorist watch duties on the sound... It is time to support what we love. A $5 gift from every FReeper would fulfill our goal x5! Your gift counts, even a small gift counts. Give $5 dollars (or more) today every FReeper from WA and lets "get on the map!"

Without freerepublic, I would probably get more work done while at my computer, and I wouldn't be getting the chuckles I do after seeing some of the replies.

Most of us appreciate Free Republic.
However, when something important happens, and we can't get to Free Republic for the real story. That proves the real need for Free Republic.
That happened to us/me on 9/11. We were on the Oregon Coast on vacation. On the way home with minimal radio and only CNN on TV that night in the motel, we knew very little of what had happend. Even my wife missed Free Republic and she never comes here. She knew that when I got on Free Republic, I would start getting the real news to share with her.
We arrived home late on 9/12. She told me to only unpack what was necessary for the night's need. Then, she asked me to get on Free Republic. She called our relatives and friends to talk and cry with them. Then, she went to the local grocery store for food and dinner for the night and the morning.
When she had set the dinner on the table, she asked me to please turn off Free Republic to come to dinner and share what I had learned on Free Republic. It was a rather tearful dinner as the real reality of what had happened had been revealed in my visit to Free Republic.
Is there a price on that? Yes, whatever, we donate to Free Republic to be a member to share and learn with other Freepers.
Free Republic is worth far more than whatever we donate to it. Our price is what we decide re sharing our treasure to keep Free Republic alive and there when we need it.
