Surely you recall that, at the time, there were far more important things for U.S. foreign policy to concern itself with.
Specifically, after Hussein had ejected the inspectors, we had to wait precisely five weeks to launch an attack. We were cleverly waiting for the reconvening of the House, in order to consider the Articles of Impeachment against the Scumbag-in-Chief. Then, and only then, was an attack launched by that selfsame Scumbag-in-Chief.
In other words, we (and the world) accepted the inspectors being booted out in order to further a far more important goal: providing a media distraction that served to help the Scumbag-in-Chief stay in office.
