If you suffered an e-mail assault, I trust you have a good personal firewall (I recommend the free version of ZoneAlarm) and also that your Antivirus program is up-to-date. Over the past week I have gotten five or six messages from strangers that contained the Klez virus, which will wipe your hard drive if it gets through. Fortunately my Norton Antivirus has been catching the virus and quarantining it. But my daughter's notebook computer got a boot-sector virus a month ago because she didn't update the data files, and I finally had to fdisk and re-format the hard drive in order to fix it. Gibson Research's little Klez-repair program didn't work.
So, I'll say a prayer for the appointment of good judges--which is a matter of vital concern to our country. But if your AV program isn't up-to-date, don't wait long to do something about it.
My AV program was up to date, and I use AOL email so it doesn't automatically open attachments. I never open attachments from folks I don't know and am hesitant about attachments from folks I do. Thank you for the warning though.
