The object of our government is the protection and security of the governed. The object of our military is to protect our government and the people it governs. Governments submits to the will of the people. It the military must submit to the will of the government.then it follows then that members of the millitary have far fewer rights and a far different set of rules of justice than do members of the government itself. It follows that those that command have more power then those who must obey the commands. It follows that the governemt must have more rights than the military it commanda and that citizens of a nation should have more rights than the government it commands.
Membership in the military for most of our history was a condition of male citizenship. To earn citizenship (that is to earn the right to control government.. to make government your servant) one had to first be a government servent in the military. Another name for servant is slave. To be allowed to make government their slave, males had to be a government slave in the military for some period of time. It was called the draft.
Our nation is a nation where men are masters for most of their lives, but in the past for some period all had to be slaves as well. The rich were in early years allowed to hire men to act as military slaves in their place. Later the rich were allowed to hide in college.
UCMJ is a set of laws to govern slaves. It always has been. It always will be. The only thing that is different now is that Nixon changed the rules of military service as voluntary servitude rather than involuntary servitude. The object was to make slavery attractive attractive enough so men and women would want to be slaves. They did so... but it is still slavery.
Some fools argue for us to use the system that lead to the downfall of the Roman Empire. The Romans took slaves from other nations to staff their legions. The military slaves were always going to be slaves. It did not take the foreign slaves long to figure out that if they could beat the Roman enemies, they could defeat the Romans themselves who had no legions but them. It was the only way for the slaves to become masters and they used that way. The lesson of the Roman empire is that military slaves had to have as their reward for servitude the promotion from slave to master.
Slaves that are guaranteed the right to become masters, rarely overthrow slavery. Men do not willingly die because someone tells them to fight and die. Only servitude (slavery) can make men fight when death is certain. Men charge up the hill into enemy fire when the chances of death are 8 out of 10, only when refusal will result in 100 percent chance of death at the hands of their commander.
Justice for servants (slaves) is not the same as justice for free men. Any one with a brain should be able to see that simple fact.
