Was that the same daughter who was abducted at 14 or a different one? Either way, with TWO events like this, I'm sure you've had occasion to give a lot of thought to how to teach kids to prevent and/or survive these things.

My one and only daughter, thanks for asking. Accosted at 14 and again at 17, in very nice beach communities outside LA.

And then, while property manager at a large downtown office building in San Francisco, she was threatened with death by a crazed lunatic on the security force of the building. He got into her office, got her home phone and address, left threatening calls on her office and home phones. San Fran police, the building security force, and an additional security force in the building guarding secret operations for a large company based there could do NOTHING as she hadn't been killed yet. She RAN to Idaho and married a big, strong sheriff. How's that for self-preservation! Now she lives on a ranch with hubby, huge dogs, and knows how to use her gun.
