Time to break out the o'l sand filled coveralls. I am trying to figure out how to dampen my tin foil helmet though. Seriously though, seems like cool technology that has some very easy methods of countermeasure. Great article!

Interesting article.
After spending many years test-running jet engines, able to witness the range of effects from a variety of intense frequencies from: agression (usually fom the 'chest rumble', kind of like being at a drag strip - only more intense); to sleep (usually during long endurance runs @ 90% MC power) almost impossible to fight off.
On the lighter side, Kate Bush had a song (early 80's) about sound as a secret military weapon.

Hounds of Love? -Kate Bush,1985 Really unique music. As far as my wife is concerned though, Kate Bush is an accoustical weapon. I listen when she is out of the house.

Darn in, this explains why nobody likes the music I write.

Hey, if everyone in the world would just cross their legs and say "Om", the world would break out in peace, but the resulting hetrodyning (hey, we straight folks have to eat too) would make everyone cranky and war would break out. There's always a catch.

No, no - years before "Hounds of Love", back when her stuff was only played on "alternative stations".
Very sensuous music, even her audible inhales between verses gives me goose bumps.
I think Patti Smith could be considered a "sonic doom" weapon, though! (Like Yoko Ono, only with talent).

Well don't compose pieces for flute chorus either because everyone hates that fruity, shrill colliope sound too. Acoustic guitars, violas, cellos, french horns, the plaintive cry of the loon (you have to squeeze them just right) - it's the only way to go if you don't want to hurt someone you love.

The feller who tried this in Atlas Shrugged came to an evil end. But it works, I know it does. It's summertime, and every hundred-dollar jalopy with a $3000 stereo has decided to demonstrate that. I'm thinking "hand grenades" here...

Well - actually, you could transmit electromagnetic waves over the distance required, making metallic objects at your target oscillate and produce the desired sounds at your target. Just don't tell the Germans :)

Used to go into a local drinking establishment, put that Yoko Ono "Kiss,Kiss,Kiss" song on the juke box for about 5 plays and leave. Talk about a screeching banshee clearing out a bar!
