I suspect the "sleeping" hours were spent confessing to BVD and then planning the story they would tell police. I suspect the body had been secreted by either the Demon Seed or a friend, only to turn up later re: Feldman's death estimate inquiries as to the body being dumped while Westy was on ice.

I recall that tragic note Danielle wrote to Daddy suggesting (alright I'll say it) INCEST!! I suspect they agreed BVD would do the phoning to the cops keeping him, the real murderer at arms length.

I can hear the Demon Seed now,..."You know Brenda, if I take the fall for this it's over for you. No more bread winner, you may lose the boys as an unfit mother, how do expect to support yourself?????????????????????????" Brenda, sensing the obvious, fell right in line. The Demon Seed COULD'NT call for one very obvious reason. He knew how she had really died and what he had done with her. If he made even one slip-up on the police tape they might arrest him.

I suspect Brenda was the one who suggested DW as the obvious killer, after all SHE HAD JUST SEEN HIM THAT EVENING, knew he had been drinking and at the very least it would cast suspicion away from the Demon Seed.

I also suspect that since BVD is a PIG, and has been for several years, the Demon Seed had stopped boffing her long ago. It stands to reason that she got it on with Westy in the trailer, which, if nothing else, kept the cobwebs from forming.

Besides, I suspect she has a thing for guys with van Dykes. Westy and the Demon Seed had very similar looking beards.
