I was at a Middle School graduation today (as a 7th grade parent providing punch and cake) and the PE teacher was giving out awards. A couple students won the Presidential award but she told them to stay in their seats as she didn't have the certificates yet. She went on to say, "President Bush has been a bit busy with foreign policy matters but we will get those certificates with his signature on them shortly." When she said "President Bush" everyone sort of sat up straighter and all looked calm and reassured. It was cool the change of atmosphere in the air just at the mention of his name. I swear this really happened and the best part was that probably only about 10% of the families voted for him. It's a somewhat liberal bastion I'm afraid but I intend to change that.

Sweet moment at the school!
Now, all you have to do is get the heads right of the other 90% of the parents (ha).
