In Bubba's case he wants the dog to convey a false all American good guy image. Here's what I think will happen. The dog will be taken to Chappaqua and placed in a run somewhere on the grounds. Some hireling will toss out food and water on a daily basis and there will be occasional exercise. We can pray the hired help has been cautioned about using a leash so there won't be another unfortunate Buddy incident. Once every few weeks Bubba himself will be sure to be seen on the front lawn with Seamus for a photo op. Poor animal.

I know!

So unfair to a good, sweet lab.

We have a lab, who is now 14 1/2 years old. I just hope he lives as long as Tulip. Did anyone read that book, "My Dog, Tulip?" Andrew Sullivan recommended it and I read it today. He spends a whole chapter on Tulip's, shall we say, bathroom habits (no bathroom is involved, however).

That amused me as I have spent a considerable amount of time contemplating Stewart's habits.
