From what I can glean, there was a statement to the cops about BVD partying hard. He did not mean they were drunk and carousing, just having a good time dancing.

Very true. I waitressed, years ago, in a restaurant that became "a bar" at night. On a busy Friday, even during the day sometimes, it would be so busy that there'd be no way a bartender could keep track of customers that weren't right in front of him/her.

Perhaps the bartender is just referring to the time period when BVD and DW were at the bar. If I remember the PH correctly, BVD said they started out at the bar, and moved to the pool tables later. So it's quite possible that BVD didn't seem that drunk to him, if he saw her earlier in the evening.

Then again, she could have a high tolerance for alcohol, and her memory lapses could be attributed to the pot she had smoked out in the parking lot.
