Hi BS...do you not remember personally attacking ME last night, as in calling me a LIAR, because you misunderstood my post? Well, you said it. I MISUNDERSTOOD your post. That's very different than someone understanding that they have a differing opinion and then claim the person is ignorant and incapable of understanding the facts of the case.
Big difference, no?
To: Mizsterious, Southflanknorthpawsis, BunnySlippers, Amore, Spectre,
Well, I can vouch for freepers having falling outs way too much..seen it, experienced it at least 2 times since march. Totally pathetic. Twisting words have become an art form on the VD threads. As a matter of fact..some even get banned. It's like if a few people don't flame someone at least once a day, they're not getting their fix. And they are preaching towards others about morals. amazing.. It's not hard to be civilized..that's what conservatism is all about. I recommend that eveyrone just let it go. This is what the enemies of conservatism want..DIVIDE FROM WITHIN AND CONQUER.

Hey did Feldman ask Brenda if Damon looked a nekkid 20 year olds on the computer? Did Mudd shut him down. Wonder if he's looking at nekkid girls who's he gonna off?

No, I'm doing very well, thank you. ROTFLMAO! Now I've got your number, and you know it. I'd just laugh if this thread were to go down. And none of it would be your fault, would it? No, it's always everyone else's fault.

Quick way for "newbies" to get up to speed in the VD trial.....
The Trial of David Westerfield for the Abduction and Murder of Danielle van Dam
by Bill Bickel
Information and updates about the search for Danielle van Dam (February 2 through February 28, 2002) are here
Information and updates about the weeks leading up to David Westerfield's trial (February 28 through May 30, 2002) are here
Background:
- Early in the morning of February 2, 2002, 7-year-old Danielle van Dam disappeared from her bedroom in her San Diego (California) home.
- Within a couple of days, David Westerfield, a neighbor, emerged as the only non-family suspect: On the morning of Danielle's disappearance, he'd driven out to the nearby desert.
- Westerfield was arrested on February 22 and charged with murder, kidnapping, and possession of child pornography on February 26.
- On February 27, Danielle's body was found in the desert. The condition of the body made it impossible to determine the time and manner of her death, or whether she'd been molested.
- Based on the fact that some of Danielle's teeth appeared to have been knocked out, the prosecution believes she suffocated by having something stuffed into her mouth
- Westerfield claims he was "abusively questioned" by police, a charge the police deny.
- The unorthodox sexual lives of Danielle's parents, Brenda and Damon van Dam (Damon was reportedly in bed with one of Brenda's friends the night Danielle was abducted), have no real relevance to Danielle's kidnapping and murder -- but they certainly interest the media, and there's speculation that Westerfield did not request a change of venue (and favored a speedy trial) in the hope that the local population's feelings the van Dams could work in his favor.
- Some details about the van Dams' lifestyle will be admitted as evidence
- Opening arguments will begin June 4. Westerfield could face the death penalty if convicted.
Update: June 6Brenda van Dam, Danielle's mother, testified about her encounters with David Westerfield, including walking away from him once at a local bar. The county medical examiner testified that Danielle had been dead for at least 10 days and -- as this article states -- "potentially up to six weeks" (an odd comment for anybody to make, since Danielle had been missing for 3 1/2 weeks before her body was found). He also conceded that, although evidence clearly indicated a homicide, there was no way to positively determine the manner of death or whether Danielle had been sexually assaulted.Update: June 5
Damon van Dam, Danielle's father, testified that he barely knew David Westerfield, and they'd never been in one anther's houses (for what it's worth, there are reports that Brenda van Dam, Danielle's mother, was dancing with Westerfield the night Danielle was abducted)
More: Damon admitted he'd withheld information about that night from the police: specifically, that he'd been smoking marijuana at home and had been "snuggling in bed" with one of his wife's friends (apparently they weren't actually having sexual relations that night, though they had in the past)
Opening Arguments: June 4
The prosecution discussed the physical evidence (Danielle's hair found in Westerfield's sink, fiber similarities that were not fully explained in the opening statement), while the defense stressed the van Dams' lifestyle and pointed out that all manner of people were in and out of their home on a regular basis.
The prosecution then called a neighbor who described the search for Danielle, and two volunteers who found her body.
Update: June 3
The prosecutor revealed why hair found in Westerfield's sink is significant: DNA analysis showed that it belonged to either Brenda van Dam or one of her three children, but Brenda dyed her hair and her sons' hair was too short. Westerfield suggested that Danielle could have wandered into his home at any time, which could explain why her hair and drops of blood were found there -- but Danielle had gotten a haircut just days before her disappearance, and the hair found was consistent with the length of her hair after it was cut, severely narrowing the period of time the "wandering" could have occurred.

Okay........I'll play. Maybe your idea of attack and mine are two different things.
Please post my "attacks" in full context and what they were responded to, in full context.
I need to see what you deem so bad.
To: BunnySlippers
Want a perfect example? Read post number 654 by our own esteemed ATTORNEY, amore, who doesn't have a clue as to what that post was all about and proceeded to rip me apart for absolutely nothing she knew anything about..
My fingers have never been so close to hitting the abuse button in all my years on FR, but I won't, it's not my style.
I expected better from Amore.
AND furthermore, in spite of my anger at this moment, I still don't want anyone banned or excluded from the van Dam threads. But words are just that, because if we all keep it up, we ain't gonna last thru the trial...a real pity.

Oh, you're pulling that trick on Bunny Slippers too, huh? Post something derogatory about that person, and then play all innocent when that person calls you on it? It's nice to know I'm not the only one I guess. That's a great way to keep asserting it's only folks on the prosecution side who start the flame wars -- post something nasty then say you were misunderstood. But that trick wears real thin, transparently thin, real fast.
Wow, why are you all so mean to each other?
I remember exactly what happened, and if you don't, it's in the posts.
Spectre quoted various versions of testimony that Damon had said about the differing abilities of Layla, the dog, being able or not able to bark. Nothing was consistent. BunnySlippers thought Spectre was accusing him/her of making things up on the fly demanding that Spectre prove where s/he said it. So, BunnySlippers called Spectre and out-and-out liar. BunnySlippers was incorrect, because I knew when I read it, s/he misunderstood what Spectre said.
Kind of funny, because in essence, BunnySlippers was actually saying that Damon made stuff up on the fly because Spectre was merely stating what Damon had said.
BunnySlippers didn't apologize, and Spectre was mad, too, for being called a liar.
Now, Amore comes in and accuses Spectre of pulling stunts.
All innocent mistakes, accusations fly, and people are mad at each other. Go back and read the posts; they're all there.

Is there some reason they have to dance to exchange DNA? Doesn't really sound like a "slow dance" place anyway. If they rubbed shoulders it could have happened.
To: Southflanknorthpawsis; BunnySlippers
since everyone's drawing lines in the sand, and since you seem to think you're talking about only 2 people, I'll weigh in and say that while I have thus far managed to remain civil with you, I've thought several of the things you've said to me in the last couple of days were personal attacks as opposed to disagreements with the evidence, but I ignored them, and tried to continue a civil dialogue.

I've thought several of the things you've said to me in the last couple of days were personal attacks as opposed to disagreements with the evidence I know you addressed this to both of us ... but just so it's understood that you are talking to South Flank here.
To: sbnsd
Well, that about sums it up. Thank you.
I'm really tired of all the fighting...It's time for me to take a time-out. sw

Please post my "attacks" in full context and what they were responded to, in full context. Wait. In #634 you say you couldn't give a flip about what I think and now you need quotes "in full context"!!! Suffice it to say that you have a habit, not just on this Van Dam thread, of calling people ignorant. Your attacks are snide ... even when alisasny" said a couple of times to leave her alone.

Omigawsh, Fresno. Are you going to record this one? On the Freep label? LOL!
