Also, I believe it was a buddy of one of the workmen or someone that came to see the house as a prospective buyer. There are a lot of sickos in this world and it's a shame a child cannot be safe in her own bed.

Regarding the break in and kidnapping, the story just seems to have a lot of holes in it (as it is being reported) and seems that it could easily be a story feed to the girl by her sister to present to her parents and authorities.
