Okay just one more thing...

I would love nothing more than to be proven wrong about Bush. I love the guy's faith. That matters to me a lot. This is a battle I hope I lose and you win. I bet Rush would agree. Add George Will, Wesley Pruden, all the rest who have been uncharacteristically critical. I cannot deny what I see, and I firmly believe that constructive criticism is extremely valuable to those humble enough to listen.

Actually, Rush has entered Kristol, Kagan, McCain territory.....anything at all for some public attention.

This is new? How else does an entertainer make money?

Shalom.

Doesn't surprise me a bit. How many "I'm leaving FR, for good" posts have you read here?

I like Rush...and I admire him. I like GWB, and I admire him too. But I don't agree with everything they both say and do. Sometimes..I (AGHAST..!!) disagree with them both strongly.

Such is life.....Oy..!!

Take Good Care,

If the enviro morph was the only incident where Bush turned left, I would see your point. It simply being another case in a sequence of left turns, I still see cause for it.

Wow - I missed those flame wars...and I'm thanking God for that. And here I thought it couldn't get much worse! It's certainly a good site for search work, but if anyone asks, I don't know anything about it....

>>>He mentions us because he knows we're out there listening to him, and making up a sizable percentage of his audience.

There are 80,000 registered members of FreeRepublic. But not all of those members can be considered true FReepers. Rushes daily audience averages out, to about 4,000,000 listeners over the shows three hours. At best, thats about 0.02% of his total listeners, are members of FreeRepublic. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

People have to realize, Rush is an entertainer, first and foremost and above all else, Rush Limbaugh is out for Rush Limbaugh. Those people who have suddenly taken a liking to Rush's show, because of his harsh criticizing of President Bush, is missing Rushes motivation for such rhetoric. Conservatism is important to Rush and so is the Republican Party, but Rushes show comes first. Holding onto to his listening base of some 20 million per week, is his main objective.

I've listened to Rush more this week, then I have in quite some time. I knew the global warming issue would be front and center. Rush knows his anti-Bush rhetoric has helped his ratings in recent weeks. So expect more of the same from El Rushbo in the future. He can't slam Bushes morals and character, like he did Clinton's and for obvious reasons. Bush ain't Clinton. So Rush has to create friction, in order to keep his viewers interested.

So, if you like hearing remarks, that are nothing short of personal pot shots being taken at President Bush --- like, "what's left for conservatism, taxes and abortion" and George W.Algore --- if you like that type of gutter talk about the President, coming from Mister Conservative, the self-professed and self-appointed leader of modern American conservatism, then I say, have at it. Just understand what is motivating Rush.

Personally, I don't find Rushes recent foray, into Bush bashing, proper conduct for someone of Rushes caliber and credentials. I think Rush is setting aside politics and for now, isn't concerned about the political endgame.

I do think that Rush thinks he is so powerful that he can bend President Bush to his way of thinking. Rush is a egotist in my opinion and I don't listen to him.

An entertainer who trashes the President while our young men are on the front lines risking their lives for us. Denigrating the Commander in Chief is not patriotic.

I liken Rush to Ross Perot.........look at me look at me....I'm rich and powerful.....

Our guys on the front lines deserve better.

You know, I will take the time to talk to you because you are, I believe, sincere.

There are a few things you must take into consideration:

Bush did not win the popular vote.
Bush has a democrat Senate (thank you Jeffords!).
Bush has the mainstream media against him.
We are at war.
Clinton is ignoring the protocol for past presidents and is attacking President Bush.
Far right wingers, embittered by their losses in the primaries, are actively working against him.

DESPITE all this, he has managed to get a few things passed and win the confidence of the American people. This is no small thing. His cabinet is stellar, his actions in the war have been spot on, and he has managed to speak out for those things which are most important(right to life, welare reform, military funding, missile defense, anti-Kyoto, etc.)

Please remember that President Reagan signed an amnesty bill, an evironmental bill, a tax increase, and a large farm bill. If you weren't paying attention to politics in those years, either because of age or because of disinterest, you may not remember that.

Presidient Bush is doing the best he can at this juncture. We need to help him do better, by getting him a Senate that will help.

He must have read that nasty email from Miss Maple and it must have stinged really bad.

FReepers are the most often to email him with the "Never will I listen to you again!" type complaints.

Sort of like "I will never vote for Bush again".

I just figured out Bush's scheme. He thinks that three left turns equals a right turn so he's signing socialist legislation into law or enacting leftist policies in groups of 3. What a genius.

"Rush may not realize that to be independent, you have also to be correct." Megadittos!

The problem is that the report, read as a whole, says the science supports Bush's current policy and does not justify the Kyoto approach for the foreseeable future. The New York Times and envirowacko's spun the story to claim Bush now says the science backs Kyoto, which is false. But the media and the public are now firmly convinced the report backs Kyoto because Rush and other conservatives spun the story down the liberal line. Rush and some other conservatives shot themselves in the foot just to have a little Bushbashing fun.

You are allowed to think what you want at this site. Just don't repeat it 4, 5, or 6 times on the same thread. If we don't agree reposting the same remarks isn't going to get a different reaction.
