Soccer is mind-numbing, deadly BORING! The thought of watching a group of players kick a ball up and down a field for a couple of hours and scoring once or twice puts me to sleep! I think soccer is fine for kids, it gets them in good shape so they can play a real sport when they get older like REAL FOOTBALL! BTW, I hate the way the rest of the world calls soccer "football", it ain't even close to the king of sports, American football! I am in my late 40's and I have NEVER heard of anybody rooting for an American soccer team, EVER! Heck, I have never heard anyone even mention a soccer team, no lie! OTOH, there are tons of REAL FOOTBALL fans, high school, college, and pro. American Football RULES here and NASCAR comes in second, though I don't really get into that myself, too much. I hope all the Euro-weenie/trash enjoy their riots/world cup games!

Ermm.. but we called it 'football' about 800 years ago, so we kind of got there first, really.

Pretty descriptive name, too, if you think about it: after all, the ball is kicked with the foot.
