Who does Bush 2 sound more like today?

Sounds like the same guy he has always been - himself. The one who couldn't get all of his staff together because of the Democrats election obstruction; the one who was left with 8 years of Clinton appointees; the same one who was left a bunch of Clinton landmines; the same one who was delayed in getting his nomintions through due to Democrat obstructionist; and the same one who is trying to fight a was against terrorists who want to destroy us!

This was a hack job of the NYT in which the frothing mouths decided to whore around with. This was a minor little report blown out of proportion.

But this episode did demonstrate to me the disingenuous of the frothing mouth crowd.

Well better yet, Bush or someone in the Administration should have renounced the NYT article if it was inaccurate. That still hasn't happened.

Once again, do you think his timing was good? Wait one day to see how many people get upset then respond? Or would you rather he speak up when he knows something is against what he knows/believes as soon as possible?

I know we discuss what happened and why it happened, I'm just wanting an answer to what you'd rather your President do in these types of situations (how ever you describe it).

There was a post somewhere on one of these threads that stated that Whitman tried to delay the report but couldn't...

If true, then that would demonstrate foreknowledge, and leave the Administration no cover to say "we were blindsided by the bureaucracy."

Agree!

Except.......... LOL.

I wouldn't go so far as to tie Bush's remarks to Sean or Rush; I believe those guys have no more influence over Bush as you and I do.

I know that won't set well with the fans of Rush and Sean -- you can tell who they are -- they are on this very thread, desperately throwing out one liners, trying to get anything to twist to turn this back on Bush -- but I just don't think Bush falls for this stuff like Clinton did.

Please provide biblical verses on global warming.

What does global warming have to do with Christian beliefs or conservatives?
My point is, he's shown himself to be neither by his actions. It was all an act. He lied to us. How can we trust him for anything he says?
As far as Global warming, this issue is now the issue for 2004, and he will sell out for the votes. I can't see why we should be celebrating today.

Agree! Except.......... LOL.

I agree as well. I didn't mean to place Rush/Sean first in order to give them more prominence...probably should've put the Prez first.

Eureka!

Why not re-write it using GOOD SCIENCE and then release it?

Same as supressing it. It would have been changed for "political reasons". Previous posts assert that the report has been done for years and was released because of statutory requirements that it be submitted to the UN.

Well I have theories too that involve Rush, Drudge and Bill O...

And yes, mistakes are made from time to time. But for God's sakes, I wish people would read everything before jumping the gun. If Rush were to say the things he is saying today, yesterday, there would not have been such a furor. Only time will tell what Hannity will say.

Play up the fact that disloyal career civil servants were pursuing their own agenda directly contrary to the adminstration's position. . . . making them heroes and martyrs.

And marginalized, so who cares?

Long past time we stopped cringing at what the Left will do and made them cringe at us. We score no points playing patsies to their bullies.

Actually I would rather see all the posts from the neocons, commenting on how global warming may be real after all, and maybe we should be taking a better look at it now. Of course, now they are changing direction again.

, but because I want to see conservative issues advanced, and this report *does not* advance conservative issues.

Do you think Ronald Reagan advanced conservatism ? If so it might interest you to know the treaty designed to reduce ozone depleting chemicals to protect the ozone hole was signed by President Reagan.

O'Reilly was happy with the report, incidentally. He and some guy from the "Environmental Working Group" were raving about it last night.

They must be sexually aroused due to global warming. (Kidding - if I don't say I'm kidding some of these Freepers will say I'm not Christian or conservative)

Re#288 While a good idea in theory, the pressholes would not connect the dots for the benefit of the administration. Gotta keep it simple and take it straight to the sheeple. It's working so far...

Calling the WH for their reaction would be the normal and prudent course of action for anyone in the public arena-before going on air and inflating and misrepresenting the President's views. Unless that was the intended plan to begin with.
