with massive, external, naturally-occuring inputs and wide variability in measurables.
Therefore,
To say we can control it by tweaking a small set of factors is ridiculous on its face.

You can no more successfully predict the outcome of doing something than you can of
not doing something. In other words, the impact of trying to "fix" a climate problem
is as unpredictable as the impact of ignoring it.

I think Bush is trying to make that point. The big problem has been the poor quality of reporting and the way the media has been slanted. So, we have to re-fight this battle on different terms, IMHO. We saw what frontal assaults did. We may have the White House, but the Dems have the Senate, and I will not go for a frontal attack WITHOUT a good probablility of SUCCESSFULLY passing legislation.

If some people want to call this selling out or cowardice, I have no control over it. The fact of the matter is that I am not out to make noise. I'm out to WIN, and I DEFINE winning as getting significant changes PASSED INTO LAW.
