It is quite possible that we are now in a cyclic climate change again, which can be called "global warming" but is as natural as the change of the seasons
If it is cyclical, then there is no global warming, just a temporary phase of a cycle around a norm. Global warming implies an increasing norm.

Stating that there is going to be all the environmental wreckage that the report claims is specious at best, and cedes entirely too much of the philosophical battle to the left, for no reason that I can fathom, unless Mudboy Slim is right that this is to placate some of our allies to aid the war on terrorism.

That is actually one of the more plausible theories suggested in this thread. I had noticed in European statements after the attacks, a strange linkage they wished to make to Kyoto.

I have been listening all day to the "top of the hour news" radio and the cable networks all day and the only place where this is being reported and causing "controversy" is on the conservative outlets(i.e Rush, Drudge, and Hannity).

Like I stated before one must give the NYT credit for causing a conservative controversy out of thin air.

This is the best of both worlds for them(NYT). Not being reported on cable and for fanning the flames on conservative outlets.

BTW, here's the European plan to deal with global warming:

EU quota likely for flatulent cows
