I'd like to see the data backing up that accusation.

Rod Dreher printed it in National Review, citing the Boston Globe.

One reason could be because in almost any Catholic church in the country, anyone can come in and go to mass without having to stand up and say who they are, and that they are a new person, etc. It's easier to be inconspicuous in a Catholic church than, say a small Baptist church.

a continuation of postings trying to water down the hideousness of these crimes against God and man

I have to agree. Some Catholics don't want to talk about it or think about it, and some do. The ones who are facing it and accepting it as evil are the ones who will save their church. Denial doesn't help, and in fact already happened and made it worse.

There are about 950 priests in the Boston diocese, and some 250 have been credibly accused of sex crimes.

Maybe the mistake was from this, or something similar, from the Boston Globe today:

"[Attorney Mitchell] Garabedian began handling clergy sex abuse cases in the late 1980s and represented his first Geoghan victim in 1994. To date, the Boston-based lawyer estimates he has represented 250 alleged victims of dozens of priests."

Since the 60's socialists have pretty much taken over the Catholic seminaries, making sure they get homosexual priests, turning away or driving away heterosexuals. The sex scandal is about homosexual child predators, which in an atmosphere of 'anything goes' is to be expected. This is very well documented by a new book just out about it. Can't remember the name of it.

This article, rather than calling for fewer attacks on the Catholics (this stuff NEEDS constant attack!), this writer seems to want to use the scandal to attack ALL churches.
