I listen to her every night. She is really good about some things but there is a dark side to her that I wouldn't trust. There are certain types of people she has no compassion for. Unwed mothers and men who have to find a place to "stick" it.
I really wouldn't want to have to choose. That's why I wrote what I wrote.
It's called LUNACY.
Tough love is very effective. It is part of a moral underpinning to call people to account for their mistakes -- particularly those who won't or can't yet face the same.
No one is forced to call her. And if they've listened before, they know exactly what they're getting into. Some people know they need a swift kick onto the right road.
You sound like the kinda person who wants everyone to pass, no matter how low the grade, and everyone to be valedicatorian. We need to realize that this "self esteem" way of looking at the world has caused many of our societal failures -- starting with the breakdown of the family and of public education.
Better we have someone that tells the truth bluntly than someone who lies sweetly.
