WASHINGTON -- Occasional grumbling by some prominent conservatives about President Bush sometimes overshadows his extremely solid support among stalwart Republicans and conservatives around the country.
Many Republicans and Democrats seem to agree that support by itself does not tilt the 2002 elections toward the GOP. Some, however, say it could offset the gains the party out of the White House -- Democrats, in this case -- historically has made in midterm elections.

I know your history around here and have agreed with you many times BUT the final showdown was completely under the control of Randy Weaver. Cheer on the kids who manage to make it through IvyLeague, the " little Ivies ", and the Big 10 colleges and come out not only Conservatives, but with far more education than you have. If you can't take the give and take on FR, then jus tread it ( maybe you'll finally learn something ) and don't post replies.
The topic of this thread, though long ago diverted , is that President Bush has fantastic approval ratings . As a matter of fact, dear, he has THE longest string of high approval ratings there ever has been. Think that you can manage to stay on topic ?
Yes it is "wrong" but then again what is your point? Do hate crime laws stop you from offing a gay, or a black or anyone else? Look kid they can only kill you once. Go for it.
The vandals around here can't abide anything positive being enjoyed on FR. So they show up to cover the area with feces. I, for one, am getting sick of it. There are enough threads around here dedicated to bedwetters sharing their inhuman suffering and oppression here in 2002 America. I don't want them going out of their way to blow up threads that give some of us cause for optimism and confidence.

BTW ... look Randy up at the gun show cirucit and talk to him sometime. GO out of your way if you have to ... it will be worth your while. ... and I don't mean call him names or make pronouncements ... I mean talk to him and maybe do a lot of listening. Realize you are talking to someone who has gone through something you should hope to God you are never faced with.
I can tell you personally ... he held up and he reacted honorably to a completely out of control, completely horrendous atrocity perpetrated on him and his family by an out of control government.
Your thoughts regarding it from afar will never diminish or tarnish those simple facts.

I must admit, my comments were influenced by a growing suspicion I have that there is an Underground Railroad in service from some very unsavory places into Free Republic. JimRob pulled a thread yesterday, an anti-immigration thread "amazingly", that had it's origin from folks at vdare.com, a lovely little outpost of bile and stench on the Web.
There a people with bad intent here, looking to create inflammatory passions and marginalize FR as a place of serious Conservative dialogue. It's getting to be like "Spy vs. Spy".
So forgive my little act of un-neighborliness.
You judgements and pronouncement, from a distance and illinformed ... will make no difference on that day. One who knows the truth will be the one judging there.
Knowing quite a bit about it personally ... my belief is that Randy will do fine on that account.

Therein, you will find, to yur amazement, should you actually take the time and trouble to keep a running tabulation, that the majority of people , who side with Texasforever, far outweighs those who don't. You shall also see , dear, that he has corrected your incorrect statements, as have I, any number of times. F find them all for yourself; it'll be time better spent, than mouthing off about things which you have an abject lack of knowledge about.
As to the rest of your snide comments and smary requests, well kiddo, I've talked with 10 year olds, who have a better grasp of history, politics, and manners than you do. You are oly good for a giggle and to correct, so that the lurkers get the right info. : - )
