Now it's 20-50 injured; calling it 'pandamonium'. School picnics were there today. Kids are waiting for buses to take them back to schools. Pray for their safety. My family always goes there, never misses it.

The storm was insane. I was caught running in it in Highland Park/Friendship/Shadyside. I was going to tough it out until the hail came. Shadyside developed a fourth river down S. Negley.

Glad you're safe, Dude. I feel for the parents trying to find out about their kids. There is no easy way into West Mifflin.

The easiest way is to go over the Hi-Level bridge, which is jam packed on a Friday night.

The one killed was an 8 year old girl. They are saying there still might be kids trapped under the fallen roof of the 'Whip' ride.

It is tragic to see the consequences as God lifts His hand of protection from a sinful nation.  The day before yesterday, 3 hikers were lost and died on Mt. Rainier in Washington.  Yesterday a Blackhawk helicopter crashed on Mt. Hood in Oregon attempting to rescue 12 people who were roped together and 9 fell in a crevass.  Three of the men in the latter group were named:

"...Harry Slutter, 43, New York City; Christopher Kern, 40, Long Island, N.Y.; and Thomas Hellman, 45, hometown unknown."  Copter crashes during Mt Hood rescue
More people not finding life's a party and not reaching expected destinations.  The bridge is out.  Here is a a view of Mt. Hood from Lost Lake.  More "pictures" here:   179

Mt. Hood, Oregon's most majestic peak, looms above Lost Lake, near
Hood River, in this July 14, 1996 file photo. The icy volcanic cone has
lured Oregonians for decades, drawing millions of hikers, skiers and
tourists annually. Although experts consider it an easy climb for a
glacier-covered peak, it has claimed 130 lives in 100 years. (AP

The bridge is out.

Yes indeed the bridge is out. The one in Arkansas. I sure hope it wasn't over the Lost River Gorge!

Interestingly enough the community picnic for the school district where I live was last Thusday. It's a family tradition that we go no matter what. But this year three in the family were sick, and the weather wasn't as warm as we would have liked. So going against an almost set in stone trafdition, we opted to wait a week and go Friady the 31st, the day of The Storm.

But once again we were detered by something beyond our control. Instead of being at the park, the day was spent replacing a blown head gasket in our Voyager mini van.

If the gasket hadn't blown, without question we would have been there.

Not only that but one of our favorite places is Lost Kennywood, The Whip in particular because Wife and I along with our youngest son can ride it together.

Yesterday turned into the saddest, most tragic day ever at Kennywood. Prayers for all those affected.
