Drugs, and driving drunk/stoned are illegal. Leaving children under the age of ten alone at home is also illegal, although I am not sure whether this is true in CA. I lived in CA, and I never had to ask, because I would NEVER leave a 5 year old, a seven year old and a nine year old at home alone. Those items, as well as leaving them alone in a mall should be more than sufficient to prove endangerment and/or unfitness to parent.

Yeah, I don't know CA law either....in many states, it depends on the maturity of the "child in charge"..but for the rest..drugs, drunk driving etc., I have to agree... At least some kind of abuse education..they would be GREAT examples of what to NOT do for parents who've not suffered terrible consequences for their actions.
