After 48 hours on the lam, an escaped parrot was apprehended by two city police officers.
Zane, the missing African gray parrot who was reported missing Monday from the National Aviary on the North Side, was picked up Wednesday afternoon at the corner of Second Avenue and Ross Street, Downtown, said Tiffany Sander, spokeswoman for the Aviary.
