Does anyone know the current whereabouts of Gary Condit? The last I heard, he had "disappeared" on the morning that Chandra's remains were found. Have there been any "sightings" of him yet?
Could this be what he meant when he told AMS that he "might be in some trouble and have to disappear for awhile", way back last summer?
I've been asking folks as well. Last I read, his staff say he's "in hiding." I don't know what they intended to imply with that, I'm going to assume they just mean he's trying to keep away from the press, mikes in his face, etc. I hve been wondering why he wouldn't be attending House session, has been missing votes, for the ONE place the guy can be where reporters and the cops have no access to him is the House floor ... only members and former members may be in that chamber. And recall, all the gals of the CA House Delegation were his personal bodyguards last year, we had the story on how they were a "protective circle" for him. Plenty of ways for him to get off the floor without having to be acosted as well, the doors out of the cloakrooms go to the private elevators, the private subway, back to his office where the staff will at least keep the reporters out.
Do they mean he's not at his DC home, but is in a hotel somewhere? Is he back in CA??
