Hundreds turn out to mourn Chandra Levy -- for the person she was, not for any scandal.

MODESTO -- She was the only daughter of Robert and Susan Levy, but on Tuesday she was everyone's child -- a young woman, publicly mourned by 1,200 people for a life unrealized.

Chandra was NO ONE'S CHILD - she was a grown woman. Unfortunately, she was also immature and immoral - probably because her PARENTS (not the village) didn't raise her to be honorable, sensible, and stable.

True, but haven't we got to where fewer and fewer people think there is something wrong with that? Monica's mom was proud of her, wasn't she? You sleep your way to the top, fact of life. Chandra's mom advised her not to be "like Monica" which I took to mean you'd better get your man in the end. That fanatical determination to "get her man" unlike Monica, was, I think, her fatal mistake.
