Hundreds turn out to mourn Chandra Levy -- for the person she was, not for any scandal.

MODESTO -- She was the only daughter of Robert and Susan Levy, but on Tuesday she was everyone's child -- a young woman, publicly mourned by 1,200 people for a life unrealized.

But on this day -- for these 90 minutes -- Chandra Levy was everyone's child.

And a poignant reminder to all parents that going to Washington D.C. as an intern is a VERY BAD IDEA.

would you prefer a world where FR doesn't exist--

Never my child.

It's my opinion that although Chandra made a really bad choice in having an affair with a married man, there is no way she deserved to die because of it.
We raise our children to the best of our ability. How they choose to live their lives is sometimes out of our control.
My heart breaks for her parents.

We should have cared about Condit's misbehavior long before Chandra disappeared. He's been a risk to national security (as was Clinton) for years. Sexual scandals are dangerous, not just for the participants, but for everyone who depends on them to be honorable. Where there is no honor, there is no security.
Though Chandra is a murder victim, that does not mean her honor is unquestionable. She chased after a married man, a U.S. Congressman, that made her dishonorable and unpatriotic.

I must agree. I don't want to necessarily slam Chandra Levy and I am sorry for her fate, but............

I am greatly offended for the many other young women who may be murdered and dumped and no one knows their names. This case is famous BECAUSE there was an affair with a married congressman. It's almost if that makes her death more important. It's not right.

I'm sorry for her family and I'm sorry for her foolishness in getting involved with Condit. But I am equally or maybe more sorry for others that are injured or killed and the world is not hunting for them, talking about every aspect of their lives, or drawing 2000 people to their memorial services.

Yep...Just pointing out that if you choose to get so bummed out by others that you "sometimes wonder why [you] are here" that maybe you take others' stupid comments too seriously. Suffer the idiots, even if you obviously consider me one.
