Good point. Here's the description of David in his first appearance in the Bible (1 Samuel 16:12): "Now he was ruddy, and withal of beautiful eyes, and goodly to look upon." From 1 Samuel 17:42: "[H]e was but a youth, and ruddy, and withal of a fair countenance."

Ruddy implies either red hair or a reddish complexion (from being outside, keeping the sheep, perhaps?) But blond? I don't think so.

More about blondes.

The Philistines were apparently northern invaders from what is now the vicinity of Greece, perhaps Mycenean refugees. Goliath was a lot more likely to have been blond than David was.
