JFK's Naval Exploit is the equivalent of getting a lobster boat rammed by the Nova Scotia Ferry.

I got no problem with them giving old Jack the medal for towing that crewman to shore, but they should have given the guy the medal at his court martial for losing his boat, as they would have done to anyone else.

Note: The McCormack Family, bitter rivals to the Kennedys in Assachewshuts, named their family yacht the Yamagiri, after the destroyer that rammed Jack's PT 109. Ha!

Nice tid-bit on the Yamagiri!

Any details on the feud between the McCormack's vs. Kennedy's?

I vaguely recall that the boat was out of its assigned area too. Gross incompetence or complete disregard for orders.

Take your pick

Guess it really helps to have your father as an ambassador.

Very recently heard Robert Caro on his latest LBJ bio. Congressman Johnson went on a single bombing
mission as an observer, in combat for about 10minutes, and surprise, got the Silver Star.

(And he constantly wore the ribbon)
