He does a very good job of sounding rational and even handed. It was great to watch him debate Haroun Amin of the Northern Alliance last Nov/Dec and watch Amin call Ijaz on some of his statements.

The funny thing is, a guy like Ijaz is safer in India than in his native pakistan where he supposedly has a death fatwa on his head; done no doubt to enhance his 'credibility' here in the USA.

Re: Sudan, he used to be on the board of Talisman Energy (I don't know if his investment firm holds or held the stock) and Talisman is a BIG oil/gas player in Sudan. They hold a minority stake in a huge project led by the Chicoms. But Talisman always trades at a 10-15% discount to its peers because of this Sudan deal with the questions regarding human rights abuses etc. IIRC, the US Congress was close to passing a bill last year that would ban any companies with dealings in Sudan from raising capital in the United States. So I can see his inklings to get Sudan in the good graces of the west...I wish Black Jade were still around cause we could surely get to the bottom of this.
