What GE has done is made a difficult choice for women more difficult. Women who come into abortion clinics have already agonized for days if not weeks about whether to bring a child into the world, and forcing the woman to see the fetus will only make a difficult decision tougher.

If forced to see images, women will be forced to bear a great emotional burden for having an abortion. Society should be working to make it as easy as possible for a woman to choose to do what she chooses.

GE's product will lead to emotional cruelty against women. If a woman was pregnant because she was raped, for example, the image of her fetus will make her experience the rape all over again.

It's time for those who support women's rights to bring a national boycott against GE. GE is aiding those who want to bring women back to the dark ages.

(Okay, okay, now hold those flames. I don't believe a word of the junk I wrote in the top four paragraphs. I just wanted to give a taste of how leftists are going to argue this one.)

you make a good "devils advocate" and i expect the left is already printing up brochures saying exactly what you postulated they would say. Good work, we need to be prepared to argue effectively from a position of knowledge and logic.....

I can think of one other possible liberal 'whine'... that medical equipment manufacturers shouldn't be advertising pricey equipment to the general public because oh waa, they'll pester their doctors to get it and it'll drive health care costs up and... *wail* *moan* *gripe*.

Well, this is, if not a first, a rarity. Medical equipment manufacturers don't commonly advertise to the general public. Is there any licensing issue with the typical crisis pregnancy center having this kind of equipment?... can a RN do the scan or does it have to be a doctor?

Also (nerd aside here) I wonder what kind of operating system it runs internally. Windows? Linux?
